Clio RX was at the forefront of the action this past weekend while Clio Rally4 and Clio Rally5 excelled in their dedicated trophies as well as in France, Italy and Mexico.

French Junior Rallycross Championship

Tom Le Jossec arrived in Kerlabo as the leader of the French Junior FFSA Rallycross Championship, intending to score a knockout punch before the summer break. Competing on home turf, the Breton fulfilled the mission that sees him extend his advantage in the general classification. Châteauroux winner Mathieu Frétin finished runner-up behind his teammate to get back in title contention whilst Luc Derrien handed third place to Alizée Pottier on a silver platter after the finish. Tom Le Jossec now has a 22-point ahead Luc Derrien with Mathieu Frétin 5 points further back before the Clio RXs return to action at Lohéac (3-4 September).

Clio Trophy Italia

Clio Trophy Italia entered the second half of its season at Rally Lana. Putting their Clio Rally4 and Clio Rally5 experience to good use, Marco Varetto and Vittorio Bianco made an impressive debut in the trophy, dominating six of the seven stages to win in Piedmont. Gianluca Rao and Christian Zeppegno denied them the grand slam and finished second ahead of Andrea Scalzotto - Nicola Rutigliano, the new leaders of the Clio Trophy Italia with this podium result and the retirement of Giovanni Marco Lanzalaco - Antonio Marchica. Clio Trophy Italia will return to the stages on Rally di San Martino di Castrozza (9-10 September).

On the same roads, Mattia Zanin - Andrea Budoia and Riccardo Pederzani - Roberto Mometti scored a one-two for Clio Rally4 in the category reserved for drivers under 25 years of age.

Clio Trophy Canarias

Winners of the first two rounds of the Clio Trophy Canarias, Alejandro Martín and Daniel Rosario made it three in a row on the Ciudad de La Laguna Rally. The duo won all nine stages with a 1:54.6s margin of victory over Sebastián and Adrián Gil, who resisted the return of Manuel Hernández Padrón - David Bethencourt in the final kilometres of the rally. With their third consecutive victory, Alejandro Martín and Daniel Rosario will have the opportunity to take a big step towards the title at Rally Villa de Teror (23-24 September).

Clio Trophy Turkey

Due to the high risk of forest fires, the Kocaeli Rally has been postponed to an undetermined date. Three rounds remain on the 2022 Clio Trophy Turkey calendar : the Kocaeli Rally, the Istanbul Rally (17-18 September) and the Ege Rally (15-16 October). Tuncer and Asena Sancakli lead an extremely open general classification at the mid-season point.
