The man behind the wheel of the latest addition to the Renault Sport range was the ever popular Jean Ragnotti. Well-known to WSR crowds for his many Renault Classic Show outings in the Renault 5 Turbo, the French rally legend showed another side to his talent by putting the brand new Renault Sport model through its paces, to the delight of the Le Mans crowd.

After stepping out of the car, a very pleased Jean Ragnotti told us how it went : “The balance of the car is excellent in the standard version with 4Control and it brakes nicely,” said the man they call Jeannot. “We drove the sport version with the steering wheel-mounted paddles and it went well. This first outing with the New Mégane GT felt really good.”

With its classy looks, the New Mégane GT attracted the eyes of the fans at Le Mans. The new arrival in the Renault Sport range met with their widespread approval, which they expressed by cheering on Jean Ragnotti and then giving the car another thumbs-up when it put in an appearance in the Renault Sport Show.

After watching the New Mégane GT complete its first track outing, Renault Sport Technologies Design Director Éric Diemert shared his views : “It’s amazing to see the New Mégane GT in dynamic surroundings, especially at the prestigious Circuit Bugatti. The New Mégane was designed to project a dynamic image and it’s a beautifully proportioned car. Our challenge with the GT was to push the boundaries even further in terms of sportiness. We applied every last bit of Renault Sport design DNA to both the exterior and interior.”
