Tomorrow has already arrived for the Clio Cup France !
Just barely after an action-packed season concluded with an amazing final, the Clio Cup France turns towards next year in offering the competitors a race calendar combining stability and new challenges.
From year to year, the success of the heir of the single-make series’ created by Renault isn’t fading despite being around for more than fifty years !
Attracted by the driving pleasure procured by the Clio Cup, the friendly atmosphere in the paddock, the level of competitiveness and cost controls, the drivers offer a unique show with on average more than thirty-two cars on the grid.
Following a 2018 season full of intense battles, photo-finish victories, and a title that was decided by just two points in the final race of the season, the Clio Cup France now looks to 2019 in revealing its race calendar.
The format of six, two-race, meetings will return, with four dates supporting the Championnat de France FFSA des Circuits. After the season kicks off on Easter weekend at Nogaro, the field will head to Imola for the first visit of the Clio Cup France in Italy since it was revived in 2004. Lédenon will make its return in July after a five-year absence.
For the end of July, start of August weekend, the Clio Cup France will make its second trip outside of France to Spain, also fully exploiting the new opportunities designed by the FIA to national cups. The last two rounds will be contested on the last two circuits to host the French F1 Grand Prix : Magny-Cours and Paul Ricard.
To guarantee an always spectacular on-track clash, Renault Sport Racing will continue to assure the technical and sporting fairness between competitors. The entered teams will have a spare parts service and technical and sport assistance at their disposal.
In addition to the calendar, Renault Sport Racing will very soon announce new initiatives developed in parallel to the Clio Cup France to increase track time and to vary the race formats proposed to the drivers and teams having a Clio Cup.
