Quick-fire interview : Corentin Tierce

Let’s hear from Clio Cup France double winner at Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours, Corentin Tierce !

How do you feel after this double win ?
It’s hard to put into words ! On Saturday, it was my first win after five years in Clio Cup France. It ended with a double, so I’m still on cloud nine. I was a bit surprised by this result. I’ve always felt comfortable at Magny-Cours, but taking a pole and two wins is really something special !

How is the transition with New Clio Cup going ?
Quite well considering I did very little testing before the season and it didn’t take me long to understand it and to be at the front in Magny-Cours... And when you are at the front like I did, you are always pleased !

You also moved from your family team to Milan Competition...
It was a choice as we are all busy in our professional lives. Even though everyone pointed out that we created a really nice, proper and competitive team, it wasn’t our actual job and we didn’t have the time to look after it properly, not to mention the choices made by some customers. This decision was not an easy one as the passion we all share in my family has been developped into a real project. It took a bit of time to adapt because I wasn’t used to working with a team manager - even though it’s still Clio Cup - but everything is going well. The team is great, Nicolas is very professional and we couldn’t have done much better in terms of team results at Magny-Cours !

What are your targets this season ?
I’m often told I should be a bit more ambitious, but I don’t want to get ahead of myself as this season promises to be tough ! Nico isn’t going to just give up nor will the others : David Pouget, Thibaut Bossy, Anthony Jurado, Dorian Guldenfels... I wasn’t necessarily aiming for the overall podium, but now we have a chance after a weekend like Magny-Cours. For the moment, we are in a good position and I’m already looking forward to Le Castellet to confirm !
