Who would have ever thought, when Renault Sport launched on the market its first Mégane Renault Sport, that the model would become an essential reference in the segment ? Over fifteen years and three generations of Mégane R.S., the Renault Sport experts have injected all their passion to offer ever-more technology, more performance, and more pleasure.

At the start of the 2000s, Renault launched on the expanding market of sports saloons and asked Renault Sport for a sports version of its second generation Mégane. A challenge for Renault Sport, which until then had left a lasting impression on enthusiasts with compact sport models like the Spider, Clio R.S. and Clio V6.

MEGANE RENAULT SPORT, THE PIONEER
Launched in 2004 with 3 or 5 door versions, it displayed a sportive but sober design. But it was above all under the bonnet that the Renault Sport engineers pumped in the vitamins : the F4RT RS developed 225 HP (compared with 165 HP), and 300 Nm torque. The evolutions of the Mégane Renault Sport up to the highly radical Mégane R26.R elevate it to the reference in its category.

Renault Sport expertise
By introducing the front axle with independent pivot arm (TAPI) for the first time on a production car, Renault Sport asserts its expertise on the ground links. Competition-bred technology which will subsequently be found on all Mégane R.S. cars. The limited series F1 Team R26 introduced the limited-slip differential, which significantly improves the front axle traction and precision.

MEGANE III R.S., THE CONFIRMATION
When released in 2009, Mégane R.S. 250 threw a stone into the pond of sports saloons. With the 3 door Mégane Coupé bodywork and a bodybuilder kit introducing in particular the F1 blade which would become the trademark of R.S. models, it shows off its sporting character loudly and clearly. The F4RT RS gains an extra 20 HP to reach 250 HP and 340 Nm. It is offered in Sport chassis or Cup chassis.

MEGANE IV R.S. : EVEN FURTHER...
A powerful design, styled for performance, a chassis combining efficiency, agility and comfort with in particular its 4CONTROL system with 4 steering wheels, a latest generation 1.8 L turbo engine developing 280 HP and 390 Nm torque, and cutting edge technological equipment such as R.S. Vision and Multi-Sense… The latest generation Mégane R.S. is a concentrate of all the know-how and passion of Renault Sport. Objective : total driving pleasure !

Renault Sport expertise
The four shock absorbers of the Mégane R.S. are feature hydraulic bump stops, true "a damper in the damper", for greater comfort and optimum control of the tyre-ground contact.
The new cylinder head was developed using the Renault Sport Racing Formula 1 computation tools. As for the Trophy version, its turbocompressor is based on technology obtained directly from F1 : the turbine mounted on ceramic ball bearings cuts friction by a factor of three and reduces the turbo response time.
