Under a light fog, Anthony Jurado claimed the pole in the morning ahead of race one winner, Felice Jelmini (PMA Motorsport). Marc Guillot, David Pouget and Kévin Jimenez completed the top five in a session marked by the quest for the best slipstream on a track with thirty-six Clio Cups.

At the start, Anthony Jurado held the large field at bay, while Felice Jelmini ran second ahead of Marc Guillot and David Pouget. From ninth place on the grid, Nicolas Milan (Milan Compétition) quickly moved up to fifth, followed by Kevin Jimenez and an extremely nervous field.

After an initial attempt on lap three, Felice Jelmini took the lead on the next lap but once in the lead, the Italian driver had to cope with the pressure from those running close behind. The battle for seventh place raged with position changes at nearly every corner among Filippo Berto (Oregon Team), Tomas Pekar (Carpek Services), Andreas Stucki (Stucki Motorsport) and Gustavo Sandrucci (Progetto E20 Motorsport), who started sixteenth on the grid.

On lap eight, Anthony Jurado retook the lead from Felice Jelmini. On the following lap, David Pouget and Marc Guillot also made their way around their Italian rival. The safety car came out shortly after, following an incident that brought an end to the race for Andrea Argenti (SI Racing Team), who was fighting with David Pajot (Vic’Team) and Stephan Polderman (Chefo Sport).

The race resumed for a one-lap sprint. Anthony Jurado made a perfect restart to go on for the win ahead of David Pouget and Felice Jelmini. However, the latter was one of the 19 drivers penalised post-race for disrespecting the track limits.

While Anthony Jurado kept his victory ahead of David Pouget, Marc Guillot inherited third place, with Nicolas Milan, and Challengers Cup winner Kévin Jimenez (GPA Racing) completing the top five. Filippo Berto finished sixth ahead of Andreas Stucki, Henrik Seibel (Carpek Services) and Alessio Alcidi (Caal Racing), who despite a trip in the gravel trap on lap six, rounded out the top ten ahead of Felice Jelmini. In the Gentlemen Drivers Cup, Alessandro Sebasti Scalera (Milan Competition) also lost first place to Vittorio Zadotti (Scuderia Costa Ovest), who scored a category win in his first weekend of the season.

In the general classification, David Pouget widened the gap on Nicolas Milan, who now must be wary of Marc Guillot. Kevin Jimenez did the same and is closing in on the Challengers Cup title while Horn (GPA Racing) is now in the crosshairs of Alessandro Sebasti Scalera.

Group A

Thanks to his victory over Marc Guillot and Filippo Berto, Anthony Jurado reduced the gap on Marc Guillot in the Group A title fight. The crown will be decided among the two and Gabriele Torelli (Faro Racing) at Monza (29-31 October).

After his Challengers category win on Saturday, Filippo Berto did it again on Sunday with another triumph ahead of Alessio Alcidi and Yeraly Ospanov (Milan Competition). The Italian will head to the season finale with a 21-point lead from Alessio Alcidi and a 30-point advantage over Lorenzo Nicoli (Progetto E20 Motorsport).

Among the Gentlemen Drivers, Vittorio Zadotti won ahead of Due (Oregon Team) and Alessandro Sebasti Scalera (Milan Compétition), who increased his lead in the general classification despite the penalty depriving him of the category win.

Like on Saturday, Marc Guillot dominated the field to score his fourth consecutive win ahead of Tomas Pekar and Andreas Stucki and take a first step towards the title before the group final at Monza (29-31 October).

Behind this trio, Henrik Seibel posted his best result of the season with his first victory among the Challengers. The German avoided the pitfalls to win ahead of Alessio Alcidi and Jerzy Spinkiewicz, who is now assured of winning the title in the category despite a hectic race marked by several run-ins, a trip through the gravel and several penalties for disrespecting the track limits. Lionel Viguier also clinched his title in the Group C Gentlemen Drivers Cup after this weekend in Austria.

Next week, Clio Cup Europe heads to the Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Valencia, Spain for round 11 of the season. The campaign will thus enter a new era as only the top 20 results of each driver entered in Clio Cup Europe will be counted !
