Pre-season favourites, Benoît Castagné (Raiwoit Racing) and Nicolas Milan (Milan Compétition) immediately confirmed their statures in sharing the wins at Nogaro.

A specialist when it comes to the streets of Pau, Nicolas Milan took the opening race and then took another strong point haul as Pierre-Étienne Chaumat (TB2S) won race two in a downpour the following day.

Then the Clio Cup France crossed the Pyrenees for a round in Valencia. Nicolas Milan missed the Saturday race, which saw him lose the lead in the general classification to Benoît Castagné, but the driver-preparer answered on Sunday in what was a superb race.

While Benoît Castagné now has a six point lead from Nicolas Milan, the latter has a virtual six-point lead thanks to the system of discarding the worst result of the season. Dorian Guldenfels (GPA Racing), David Pouget – winner in Valencia - and Thibaut Bossy (TB2S) are still in contention.

In the Junior category, the perfect start to the season for Anthony Jurado (Setup Racing) was underminded by the rise in form of Corentin Tierce (Tierce Racing). It is a similar story among the Gentleman where Stéphane Auriacombe (Tierce Racing) who had no answer for David Pajot’s (Vic’Team) run of race wins at Valencia and Dijon

With so many undecided situations, the door handle to door handle battles will crescendo in the final two meetings at Magny-Cours and Circuit Paul Ricard !
