While the titles are still up for grabs before the final round of the season at Circuit Paul Ricard, the Clio Cup France competitors are about to experience an exceptional weekend during the International Finale !

On the same circuit that plays host to the French F1 Grand Prix, 31 drivers will be present for the sixth and final round of the year in the Coupe de France FFSA Renault Clio Cup.

Four-way battle for the title

Four drivers are still in championship contention. A winner at Nogaro and Dijon, Benoît Castagné (Raiwoit Racing) comes in with the lead thanks to his consistency.

30 years after his father won the R5 GT Turbo Cup, he now heads into the finale with a 10-point lead over Nicolas Milan (Milan Compétition). Victorious on four occasions, the driver-preparer is never tougher to beat as when he is in chase mode in these final and decisive meetings.

A little further back it is David Pouget (GPA Racing) and Dorian Guldenfels (GPA Racing), who no longer control their destinies, but their fire and form cannot be overlooked…The answer comes Sunday morning !

Juniors and Gentlemen to battle it out !

In the Junior category, Anthony Jurado (Setup Racing) and Corentin Tierce (Tierce Racing) are going to battle just until the very end. Anthony Jurado has led since the start of the season, but only has a nine-point lead before this final confrontation of the season that should be an extremely intense duel !

Their rivals want to take advantage, like Pierre Tierce (Tierce Racing), who is eyeing Adeline Prudent’s third place (Prudent Competition) while Edwyn Traynard (Autosport GP) and Marc De Fulgencio (Team VRT) - ineligible for points - have set themselves the goal of finishing in style.

In the Gentleman division, David Pajot (Vic’Team) comes in as odds on favourite following five wins from the last six races. Counting on this momentum, he intends to clinch the title as soon as he can against Stéphane Auriacombe (Tierce Racing), defending champion Mickaël Carrée (T2CM) and Emmanuel Raffin (Autosport GP).

Besides Samuel Raffin (Autosport GP), Franck Traynard (Autosport GP) and Éric Rollery (Team Rollery), the category ranks are tightened with the return of Luc Galmard (Milan Competition).

Lots of outsiders

Besides the battles for the different titles, victory will also be the goal of several competitors, including Thibaut Bossy (TB2S) and Pierre-Étienne Chaumat (TB2S) – who have already won this season – and Yoann Baziret (Setup Racing).

Meanwhile, Julien Baziret (Setup Racing), Jérémy Curty (TB2S), Mathieu Lannepoudenx (Milan Compétition) and Guillaume Savoldelli (TB2S) will race as hard as they can to make their way into the season-ending top ten.

And finally, Vincent Brunerie (Milan Compétition), Lionel Viguier (TB2S), Jérôme Da Ros (Tierce Racing), Kévin Jimenez (GPA Racing) and Emmanuel Alliot (Emma Compétition) have nothing to lose and all share the same goal of finishing with their best result of the season.

A prestigious meeting !

There promises to be intense action with the presence of 100 or so competitors as the Clio Cup España grid joins that of the Clio Cup France ! In addition, the Clio Cup Italy and Central Europe will also be decided during this exceptional event.

While the British and Chinese Clio Cups have already crowned their champions, they will also send their best to battle in Sunday’s main event : the international Renault Clio Cup final !

In what is a rare occurrence, the top ranked drivers in each national series will take part in a qualifying session and then a single race. What is at stake ? Neither more nor less than the honorary title of "Best Clio Cup Driver in the World" and the New Renault Mégane R.S.!

During this Renault festival, the public will be spoiled with several attractions and activities for all ages both on and off the track. Paddock and grandstand access, debates among enthusiasts, several parades and Renault Sport Track Day sessions and much more will be part of the programme !
