wsr.eurosport.com competition winner Carine pockets a BRM watch
Seventeen races, 17 opportunities to bet and just one winner. During the course of the season more than 700 players took each other on at wsr.eurosport.com, with Carine coming out on top with a grand total of 124 points.
Her prize was the V6-44-Trophy-R, a limited-edition BRM watch created as a tribute to the Megane R.S. 275 Trophy-R. Presenting it to her at Renault Sport’s base was BRM founder Bernard Richards, who was joined for the occasion by Regis Fricotte, Renault Sport’s Head of Communications and Sales.
Sporting her brand new watch, the competition winner spoke to us.
Are you a World Series by Renault regular ?
“I’ve only been to one World Series by Renault meeting, five years ago at Spa-Francorchamps. I remember it being very family-oriented and accessible. You could pretty much go where you wanted and watch the teams at work behind the pits. I’m a blogger at www.envoiturecarine.fr and I always keep an eye out for things like that. The action on the track was great and I’m pretty sure I remember seeing Jean-Eric Vergne and Kevin Magnussen. There’s more to the meetings than just racing, though. There’s always a lot going on in the paddock too.”

What was the key to your success throughout the season ?
“Consistency more than anything else. There was only one time, in the summer, when I couldn’t play. I was there right in front of my screen for all the other qualifying sessions, following the times live and reading all the comments on Twitter. I tried to be the first to bet on who would take pole, and Carlos Sainz helped me out a lot.”
When did you start to think that you could win the BRM V6-44 Trophy-R watch ?
“I’m not that competitive really and I didn’t get obsessed about my ranking. But after Motorland I did start to get caught up in it. And even though I missed a bet in Hungary, I managed to stay top of the rankings. I was under a bit of pressure before the final races in Jerez, and I was pretty happy that the season was coming to an end. I found out that there were more than 700 of us taking part, so there was plenty of competition after all. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Renault Sport and their partners, especially Eurosport and BRM, for organising this competition.”
