The Round of 16 to determine the Greatest Formula Renault Graduate continues with an all-French battle today.

It is the penultimate head-to-head battle in the Round of 16 of the Greatest Formula Renault Graduate tournament, with Oliver Panis taking on his former team director and now Renault Sport Racing’s special advisor Alain Prost.

Voting is open for 24 hours just until Friday May 22nd, 14:00 CET. The Round of 16 results will be announced at the conclusion of the round on Monday May 25th.

Alain Prost
The first Formula Renault driver to become F1 World Champion, Alain Prost demonstrated the full extent of his talent right from his first season in single-seater racing. “The Professor” won 12 of the 13 races to win the French Formula Renault Championship before confirming his success by winning the Formula Renault Europe Challenge in 1977. Three years later, he got his start in F1 where he scored his maiden win with Renault, his first three titles with McLaren and his last with Williams-Renault in 1993.

Olivier Panis
Winner of a talent-spotting operation in 1987, Olivier Panis made his single-seater debut in the French Formula Renault Championship. Fourth in his first season in 1988, he won the following year before moving on to F1 with Ligier-Renault in 1994. He sprung a surprise with his 1996 Monaco Grand Prix win and was third in the 1997 general classification before an accident in Canada halted his progress.
