Competition and customer activities resumed in the opening week of the new year. Poland’s Jerzy Spinkiewicz took a big step towards the Clio Cup Middle East title in Yas Marina while the Clio Ice Trophy and Clio Rally3 will premiere in the coming days !

Clio Cup Middle East

Clio Cup Middle East made its way to the Yas Marina Circuit for round three of its inaugural season. Despite the first raindrops of the campaign, Jerzy Spinklewicz extended his winning streak with another clean sweep to take his first step towards the title. Twice runner-up, Lin Chen Han picked up two wins in the Challengers Cup to take a 16-point lead over Yashish Manohar, whilst Vasily Vladikin remains in contention, as does Stanislas Novikov overall after making his return to the podium. In the Gentlemen Drivers Cup, Alex Renner won Race 1 before Ahmed Al Melaihi dominated the other two races to take the lead from Rahil Taneja, who is now nine points adrift of the leader. The drivers will reconvene at the Dubai Autodrome this week, supporting the Dubai 24 Hours (12-14 January).

Clio Ice Trophy

Mild temperatures and a lack of snow at the Pas de la Casa Circuit resulted in the postponement of the first leg of the Clio Ice Trophy by one week. The competitors will compete for the first time this Saturday before the other events scheduled for 28 January, 4 February and 11 February, thus keeping four events on the calendar. Clio Rally3 will make its first official public appearance at the season-opener.
