As the title race enters a new phase for the maiden season for the Formula Renault FR-19 chassis, Renault Sport Racing is already preparing the future of a category that will soon reach the half-century mark.

For the Formula Renault’s 50th campaign, the Formula Renault Eurocup will continue to race on the finest European circuits homologated for F1 and its support categories.

After six days of pre-season collective tests on three different tracks, including Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya and Circuit Paul Ricard, the real business at hand will begin at round one at the Autodromo di Monza, followed by Silverstone.

Thanks to a long-time relationship between the Automobile Club de Monaco and Renault Sport Racing, the Formula Renault Eurocup will, for the fifth consecutive year, act as the curtain-raiser for the most prestigious F1 Grand Prix.

Then, the most talented hopefuls of their generation will head to Circuit Paul Ricard before continuing the battle at Zandvoort, eight weeks after the return of F1 to the Dutch track to wrap up the first half of the season.

After competing in support of the 24 Hours of Spa next July, the Nürburgring, Hungaroring and Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya rounds will follow. And finally, the spectacular Yas Marina Circuit should offer a beautiful ending to this 2020 campaign.

Each weekend will be contested alongside international professional championships and will consist of two races with each having its own qualifying session to assure a level playing field. All the rounds will also have their collective tests, and six of them will also have a pre-event test day to offer a large amount of track time, controlling costs and helping driver development.

As always, affordability will also be one of the Formula Renault hallmarks in 2020. Renault Sport Racing will continue to support the emergence of new talents via several incentives, including offering the entry fees to all female drivers.

The 2020 Formula Renault Eurocup title winner will also be eligible to join the Renault Sport Academy to accelerate the next phase of his career while the rookies will receive special care when it comes to their future. The future of the Formula Renault Eurocup also promises to be bright as the category continues to spark the interest of different teams, ready to join one of today’s most competitive categories !
