With the introduction of New Clio Cup, which made its first public appearance this weekend at Magny-Cours, the 2020 Clio Cup France season will continue to visit the finest tracks in France within the Championnat de France FFSA des Circuits events. The competitors will also battle alongside their British and Spanish counterparts, whose categories will be revitalized with this new generation as the different series will meet more often !

The success of the R8 Gordini Cup’s heir is guaranteed with the introduction of the fifth Clio Cup iteration, derived from the New Clio R.S Line and powered by a 1.3TCe, 16-valve, four-cylinder engine producing 180 horsepower with a 320Nm torque for a weight of just 1,040 kilograms.

An expanded calendar in France

At home, the Clio Cup France is banking on stability by retaining what has made its success, highlighted by strong, competitive and spectacular fields. The calendar will be expanded to seven rounds, five of which will take place within the framework of the Championnat de France FFSA des Circuits.

After the ’Gen 5’ Clio Cup racing debut at the Coupes de Pâques de Nogaro, the competitors will head to the streets of Pau, then Circuit de Lédenon.

Following the summer break the British and French fields will come together at Brands Hatch ahead of the final stretch run that will see them in action at the two last circuits to host the French Formula 1 Grand Prix, Nevers Magny-Cours and Circuit Paul Ricard.

Last but not least, the season finale will reunite the French, Spanish and British Clio Cups at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in early November.
