Renault is to celebrate the 70th birthday of French motorsport legend at the Autobrocante Festival in Lohéac, Brittany, France, on October 3-4, 2015.
Jean Ragnotti : raw passion
Jean Ragnotti, familiarly known as ‘Jeannot’, is one of France’s most popular motorsport personalities and was particularly successful in the 1980s. Today, his generous, outgoing character hasn’t been forgotten by his former colleagues, or by racing and rallying fans.
Today aged 70, he hasn’t entirely hung up his helmet and gloves. He frequently takes part in events like the Le Mans Classic and the Monte-Carlo Historique, along with frequent demonstration runs in the cars that marked his career.
The 23rd Autobrocante Festival
The Manoir de l’Automobile et des Vieux Métiers in Lohéac boasts one of Europe’s finest car collections. The 400 vehicles owned by publisher Michel Hommell span many periods of automobile history, covering all makes and types, from popular models of the past to trucks, via Formula 1 and endurance racing prototypes. The festivities will take place in the 15,000 square-metre museum and the adjoining 2.5-kilometre circuit. First organised in 1992, the Autobrocante Festival is a major ‘jumble’ event for automobile enthusiasts and this year’s will feature several hundred stands.
Renault has decided to pay tribute to him at the famous rallycross track in Lohéac, France, where many of these cars will be on display. The bill will also include a parade of seventy Renault 5 Turbo, autograph-signing sessions and a package of entertainment associated with Jean Ragnotti’s career and passion.
