The Renault Design team has played a full part in the creation of the Renault Sport R.S. 01, from the first sketches, 3-D designs and the building of the model through to the race car’s unveiling at the 2014 Moscow International Automobile Show. In the process, the future star of the World Series by Renault has come to symbolise the advances the carmaker has made in terms of design.

With a view to showcasing the work the team does, we have chosen to put the spotlight on three of its key members. Under the watchful eye of Renault Design boss Laurens van den Acker, Shimizu Akio, Anthony Lo and Eric Diemert have risen to the immense challenge of encapsulating Renault’s competitive spirit in just five months. Their creation, the Renault Sport R.S. 01, is a race car with a character all of its own and a design that puts the accent on aerodynamics and the smoothest air flows.
